Submission Guidelines

We are currently accepting submissions! 

Young writers (age 13-19)  are invited to send your poems, short stories, arts, and essays for our consideration. 

All submissions must be original works by a sole creator and must not be previously published or printed in any form: this includes personal blogs or social media.

POETRY GUIDELINES

Submissions of POETRY should include the following materials:

1) Cover letter with a brief third-person bio in the body of your email

2) The written work, submitted as a SINGLE attachment (DOCX or PDF) titled as follows: “Last Name_First Name”

3) Up to 2 poems per submission, no page limit

SHORT STORIES & ESSAYS GUIDELINES

Submissions of SHORT STORIES & ESSAYS should include the following materials:

1) Cover letter with a brief third-person bio in the body of your email

2) The written work, submitted as a SINGLE attachment (DOC, DOCX, PDF) titled as follows: “Last Name_First Name”

3) Only one piece per submission, no page limit

ART/PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES

Submissions of ART/PHOTOGRAPHY should include the following materials:

1) Cover letter with a brief third-person bio in the body of your email

2) Attachment image of the artwork in JPG format at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. These attached image files should be titled as follows: “Last Name_First Name.”

3) Up to 2 pieces at a time

4) Selected art/photography will be featured for the images of the Cover Issues or Images of poetry/short stories/essays.

SUBMISSION

1) Manuscripts must be submitted via email (coterie.youthmental@gmail.com).

2) Do not include your name on any of the pages of the manuscript file. 

3) Please include the author's brief note about your work. It will be published with your work as commentary helping readers understand your work. 

4) There's no submission fee or payment.
